About Us
PHFS is a family run firm based on a farm which used to run a dairy business. PHFS has livery for over 50 horses, and makes and wraps haylage. Clipper blade sharpening and reconditioning started early in 2004 to serve groomers, horse establishments, horse and dog owners, vets and farmers in Staffordshire and Cheshire. Later on, in 2005, scissor reconditioning specialist skills were added to PHFS services for barbers and hairdressers.The best form of advertising is word of mouth and as word spread about PHFS reconditioning services, the amount of postal reconditioning for both clippers and scissors increased serving customers nationwide, and recently, worldwide. As the business expanded, PHFS became a limited company trading as Pump House Supplies Limited in April 2006.
With no direct advertising, reconditioning and sales have continued to grow steadily. Selling PHFS own Zoom scissor brand and reconditioning clipper blades has helped spread the word on Ebay. PHFS website has been updated on a regular basis and membership is growing. PHFS works with their supplier Ritchey in Yorskshire by serving non wholesale customers on a regular basis.
Early in 2008 PHFS won scissor sharpening servicing to represent three national hairdressing supply companies.
PHFS has recently begun to sell scissors by international brand names Joewell, Gotta, Ama and Dovo on the PHFS website too.
Tony and Sarah Baskerville who run PHFS are Christians. Tony is the fourth generation of the Baskerville family to live at Pump House Farm. The Baskerville clan came to the Odd Rode Baker-Wilbraham Estate in 1905.
